T-Mobile Prepaid Camera Phones

Here are some of the T-mobile prepaid camera phones currently available: the Samsung T319 for 89.99, the Samsung Stripe for 99.99, the Motorola Razr V3 for 199.99, and finally the Sidekick 3 for $399.99.

Samsung T319

The T-Mobile prepaid Samsung T319 is a good phone. It has a VGA-resolution camera with 4x digital zoom. Digital zoom is basically pointless, especially with a low-resolution camera. With your 5 megapixel digital camera, the digital zoom can sometimes be useful because even an effectively one or two megapixel photo can contain lots of detail. But to use digital zoom on a VGA-resolution camera will give you a grainy color jumble which if you squint your eyes from a distance you can pretend is a photo.

(My father has the previous version, and it's an excellent, easy-to-use phone.)

For my purposes, of all the T-Mobile prepaid camera phones, this is the one to check out if you want to get PREPAID without getting BURNED!

Samsung Stripe T329

This is an attractive Bluetooth camera phone. It feature both Text messaging and instant messaging. It features a basic VGA camera which is just good enough for emailing. However the Bluetooth capability is a plus. It has some other advanced capabilities such as being used as a modem, etc., but that's an expensive way to use your prepaid minutes.

Razr V3

the T-Mobile prepaid Razr V3 sells for $199.99. Since the Razr is one of the most popular cellphone in the world, there's not a lot one needs to say about it.

It does have a good camera for taking pretty decent snapshots of friends, parties and places, as long as you're not planning to frame these pictures. Oh, okay, maybe on a digital frame.

The Razr has a 1.3 mega-pixel resolution camera, which is a big step up from VGA-resolution. There are higher resolution camera phones out there, but they probably don't make a lot of difference. After a while, the fact that it's quite hard to hold a cell phone steady while taking a photo means that we won't be able to make much use of higher resolutions until they design the camera phones differently or put in optical image stabilization to compensate for our shaky hands.

Seriously, T-Mobile's service is pretty good, and if they have good coverage in your area, you should seriously consider one of these two T-Mobile prepaid camera phones.

T-Mobile Prepaid Sidekick 3

Finally, the last of the T-mobile prepaid camera phones is the Sidekick 3 which costs $399.99. It has top of the line features, including a nifty keyboard for composing messages.

However, at this price, if you're really considering this phone, I would consider a standard (rather than prepaid) cell phone contract, in order to get an activation rebate. Your overall cost will not be that much higher, and you'll get a lot more minutes to use this phone. If you're paying for it, you may as well get some serious use out of it to make it worthwhile.

Thanks for reading this overview of some T-mobile prepaid camera phones.
